#100 on Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings (5-Star)

Return shipping is $10 (doubt it would cost less to provide your own return shipping).

So if you can not return in store for free, then you are effectively paying $35 for one helmet…idk, is that worth it for you?
Yea, I'm not too hung up over appearances, but this is just over the top even for me!

The ppl in my low-income neighborhood already give me weird looks and make stupid comments for actually wearing safety gear. Apparently, 'real men' don't have to worry about their personal safety in my area. I can't imagine the response if I rode wearing this monster!

So the accidents aren't from hitting imperfections in the road? Wondering how much I should be wearing a helmet. I don't do mountain biking but some dirt and gravel and medium speeds tops.
Accidents can happen for any reason - hitting something unexpected in the road, having to dodge something unexpected, getting hit, getting distracted, losing control, etc. If you always wear a helmet, your head is always protected. The benefit to cost of wearing a helmet is astronomical.

You're sporting a burgundy mullet, but you're concerned about what people think about how you look in a bike helmet?

You're supposed to replace a helmet every 3-5 years as the foam dries out, so I wouldn't plan on using these more than a couple years, at most.
That's exactly what Big Helmet wants you to believe!

In my hood, it was like free bike day when we stalked Jehovah guys riding around on bike.

It's pretty ugly but comfy. Not many helmets actually look good though. The comfort is far better than anything else in the price range.

Looks quite odd.... I like a big visor to keep the sun out of my eyes and face, this visor is so high up and short there's no point in having it! It won't shade any sun from your face.

I'm guessing you didn't read the whole thread. These photos are not of me, I posted them from another website so folks would know what this helmet looks like on a rider.

anyone I've seen who looks like a serious rider always has a helmet. I don't ride fast or seriously so wearing one is optional for me I believe. Of course I'm still careful when biking
I've always worn a helmet (bicycle and motorcycle) for decades, but rolling over the hood of a car when it pulled out in front of me firmly convinced me of their value. I don't ride fast or seriously, either, but I do ride on very busy streets.

Maybe I'm just used to it, but I don't even notice I have a helmet on when I ride - even on the hottest days. I did hate my motorcycle helmet on very hot days, but I wasn't taking ANY chances with that - nothing less than full-face.

Here's a decent review that convinced me to buy 2 of them (one for my son and myself):

Weird looking helmet. It's like two helmets glued on top of each other.
I got this for my 10 year old since he smashed his last helmet in a crash. The sun visor comes off and it looks way better. Also, it was a very highly rated helmet based on some university study that used realistic physics for testing (apparently most tests don't use realistic crash physics). That was 9 months ago, so I don't recall what. Enough to get me to buy.

Bought one for my husband and myself. We both really like them! I was concerned about sizing because we were between sizing. I could have done a S or M, he could have done a M or L. We went with the bigger options and are very happy and comfortable. We're both getting back into riding after not touching a bike in 15 years. Perfect price point and safety rating for us! If we're still loving the hobby after a while, I think I'll upgrade to the Tactic 4.
