Don't worry you aren't missing out, these are pretty garbage running shoes. Upper is cheaply made and the sole is nothing to write home about.
I read a lot of reviews about these, both the standard and GTX versions, while looking for a pair of solid road/trail shoes, and it seemed like the majors (BITR, RunTesters, Docs of Running, RunRepeat, etc.) considered this a pretty solid entry among in the more road-oriented category. I ultimately went with the Agility Peak 5 GTX, mostly because the waterproofing and traction seemed more suited to the purpose I had in mind (snow running), but these were finalists.

The new discount code is working. I love Merrels. For those who say it's made cheaply, unfortunately almost all shoes nowadays are made cheaply. My podiatrist says running shoes last one month and regular wear is three months. So these shoes are basically half off. Merrells cause the least amount of foot pain after hiking to me
