Good phone and good deal.

The a35 is good, and is likely the last of the "good" Samsung a-series phones with an SD slot. The a36 and a56 don't have them.

I got the previous (nearly identical) a54 deal and was very happy with it. The two phones are architecturally almost identical (same processors and ram). It's not a speed demon, but is fast enough to do all "normal" stuff, like social media, email, phone, etc... without any real performance problems. Maybe a gamer would be disappointed with it, and it will be getting OneUI 7 very, very soon.
PSA: Looks like total wireless changed the policy from 60 days after activation to 60 days of active service. This went in to effect April 1st 2025.
Wow.

Porting in a number is a hassle -- if you don't already have a phone number.

The whole ID verification is just...how do the kids say it nowadays...."totes wack".

No idea how they're storing your image and credentials -- or who has access to them -- or what the process is for them to expunge that data -- or who is ensuring they're following best practices.

Oh who am I kidding, your DL and image are being sold to the highest bidder. We all know that.

The risk is "rebranding". How to make a phone purchased from TW or ST, to be rebranded to TF, and guarantee unlocking? If there is a trick, please share. Thanks.
For me, activated the phone after April 1st, at this point I mostly will pay the 2nd month to guarantee unlocking, unless I find another solid solution to avoid paying the 2nd month.
I've seen people say they rebrand phones and then use the same TF sim to activate several phones, using the same sim... But never enough details given for me to take the risk.

From TW, If I can get another A35 for $60 or a iPhone 13 for $165. Which will flip easier? A35 for $200 or iPhone 13 for $300

I forgot to turn on auto pay for my first month of service and I was billed 55 instead of 50. I see I can switch to a $40 plan for my second month. Am I able to add auto-pay discount on the $40 plan and take it to 35 dollars? If not then there's only a $10 difference between these two plans. How do I redeem the Disney Plus add free subscription that comes with $50 plan? The Disney subscription ends when I end my total Wireless account I presume

The Disney+ subscription access is supposed to be emailed to you and also linked under "my extras" (or something like that) in your account. If not, you can try texting to 611611 "disney+" to get the link. None of that worked for me and I had to call CS for them to update my account and add it.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been trying to find more info. It's good to know there will be no tax on that phone. I believe you are right about getting prorated credit in your wallet that will be used on your next refill. At least, that's what I think, too. An issue with adding a second line if you only want to keep Total Wireless service for 60 days to unlock the phone, is that they force the second phone to be on the same billing cycle as the first phone, so all phones on your account will have the same service end date and be billed at the same time. If you add another line before the current service end date, you will pay for that phone for the number of days up until the current service date of your account, and then your new phone will sync up to the normal billing cycle. As you can see, you will pay for 60 days plus the number of days until the current service end date until the phone unlocks. Paying for more than 60 days is offset somewhat by getting a discount rate for multiple lines. If at all possible, to minimize cost, it's probably best to activate another line close to the service end date of your account if your only goal is to unlock a new phone and then stop service for that phone. An alternative is to create another account using a different email and you can pay for only 60 days separate from your other account.

Struggling comprehending this sorry. So with additional lines added later during the first cycle does the added 2nd phone still unlock after 60 days of activation like the first phone? so added phones will have to pay for between 60 and 90 days of service you're saying? Someone said you can sit on a total wireless phone for 30 days before activating. Does that mean I would save money by activating secondary devices on the start of my second month billing cycle of my original device? creating a separate account doesn't sound like a good idea I would have to spend $90 instead of $60 for extra device plus I don't want to have to submit ID over again

I see what you are saying. The original phone should unlock after 60 days I would think. I believe the second phone should unlock 60 days after its activation, but the 60th day will fall within the second month's plan period and you will have already paid until its end. So it looks like it's best to activate a second phone at the start of the second month billing cycle, or the day before to be safe, so you won't pay more than 60 or 61 days, if you are planning on cancelling service after it unlocks. I read the comment about having 30 days to activate. I don't know about this, but customer service is usually easy to talk to or chat, though when in a chat it can be slow because of lag time between questions and answers.

If you are planning on cancelling the original first phone after the second month billing period, 60 days after it was activated, your new phone will then be the only phone on your account and the plan cost for it should go up slightly from what it was when the original phone was also on the account, since you won't have a multi-line discount anymore.

If you find out differently please let us know. Good Luck.

You don't have to pay the bills for all lines in your account. You can pay separately by choosing which line you want to pay by going to mange lines section.

I was hoping to get razor from TW with discounted service price since I currently have A35 with total Wireless but there's no discount for added line service for razr so I might just grab a second free A35 instead for $30 x2 months at a discounted secondary line instead

First step would be to pit your number in on TW to see if they accept it.

You can check the IMEI compatibility online with both AT&T & Cricket to find out.

Can someone who owns this Galaxy A35 help to check and confirm if the phone has eSIM additional to the physical SIM? I got the Moto Edge 2024 for my first line with TW, which has the eSIM I want, I am thinking if I should go with A35 or another Moto Edge for my second line with TW. Thanks!
