For those wondering, this is in the Dreamcast/N64/PSP performance class.
This isn't really a great deal at all. This unit has been at this price range on average. I noticed this store is purposely bumping up the price to make you think $15 off is a deal. For example their TrimUi Brick is over priced as well compared to other stores. Still decent for whoever wants it, but just wanted everyone to know that the TrimUi Brick has a MUCH more premium build and feel with same performance. The Brick's software performance is probably better due to all the amazing new OS' that recently launched for this beautiful unit. The two don't feel like they're made from the same company, but they are.
This is probably the best price you'll be able to get, for a long time. Basically, any deal on Aliexpress is actually an awesome deal, looking at the future.

On top of the major tariff headlines, many people may have missed the datail about the "De Minimis" exemption which applies to all purchases from Aliexpress - now ending in a few weeks. I'm sure Aliexpress will find a way to reduce the cost from this (US distribution warehouses, other supply chain adjustments?), but the fee is $25 minimum per item! Whatever you're thinking about buying on this site should be purchased ASAP. You may not be able to get these prices again after this month. Take advantage while you can, IMO.

Anbernic, Powkiddy, and Miyoo are all running various promotions also, and coupon codes are available. You can use "newusoff10" for $10 off on orders over $40, just use a new email address. There is also a $6 off $59 coupon. Basically, you can get any of these handhelds for around $50 right now. Just make sure you're buying from a reputable seller. (none of these codes will stack with the Trimui deal, it has a better coupon)

If you're new to this (as I was a few months ago) I recommend checking out "Retro Game Corps". He has really great videos on Youtube, and a website with written guides and reviews. A serious wealth of knowledge. Seems to be unbiased in general, not a paid sponsor. His review on this one:

Great Device, but not a Slick Deal. Got one for $36 and then $39 shipped. I really like the software on this one. The screen is very nice. This device would be better if it could handle the full PSP library. It can't. But with the Tariffs who knows if we'll ever see the price I got it for ever again.

Not really. Can do some of those systems but definitely not at 100%. I like this device but I wouldn't buy it as a PSP machine which it resembles. Good Port Master Machine though.

Are they supposed to list off all of the games that have poor performance or don't boot? Purchased this unit off Aliexpress for $44.93 months ago and while it has support for those systems, performance is dodgy at best when it comes to PSP, N64, and Dreamcast. It's all just dependent on how resource intensive the games are.

Yeah, I think $50 will be considered slick, in a few months. We're entering a new world. I don't think these will be $36 again for a long time, in this country. Unless we see a huge turnaround in US policy, which doesn't seem very likely today.

There have been 20% tariffs added in the last two months which reflects the price change some are talking about. And there is an additional 50% being threatened which would push this up into the $70 range on top of a newly added $25 fee meaning this will be around $100 soon if we stay on this course.

I am not seeing anything cheaper than $58 for this on Ali.

If you remove the recent tariffs from the cost, the price rivals all time lows at $39 before tariffs. This could be the cheapest it gets from now on, but only time will tell.

I think Aliexpress will expand US distribution and stop shipping from China, to reduce the cost far below $25 per item. Probably something else I'm not smart enough to think of. But bottom line, prices are going to skyrocket to the point that this site will be far less attractive to shop on. This is my fear, anyway.

How about just dealing in absolutes if you're going to be contradictory for no reason?

What I said was not inaccurate and reviews support this.

If they wanted to provide further context, at least that would have been helpful.

No emulation is perfect.

The fact that it can play some Dreamcast or PSP games is still better than not being able to play any.
I think the argument is that it's NOT in the PSP Dreamcast N64 class, because performance isn't solid with those consoles. It's just semantics, but I would agree. It's in the NES/SNES/Genesis performance classes (with ability to upscale image, add filters and shaders). It can handle a few PSP and Dreamcast games, and many/most PS1 N64 games, but way less wiggle room to make it look the way you want.

In short, you need to spend at least $100 to be in the PSP Dreamcast class (if there's a good cheaper one - I'd love to know about it!). This device is not sufficient, if PSP and Dreamcast are your goals.

Except even in your comment, you're not providing a strong argument for why what I said was incorrect.

There's a difference between providing nuance while lacking tact and being a contrarian simply for the sake of argument.

It's not semantics at all.

The reviews I looked at said they were able to get games from those systems to run. Which, if you have any experience with emulators, always has varying degrees of accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Hell, even binary compatible emulators like bSNES are not 100% perfect.

Wow, you just want to argue don't you? It's this simple: it CANNOT reliably play PSP games. At least half of them wont play, or wont play well. BUT: it can reliably play SNES games 99.9% of the time. That's why it's not in the PSP class, but is in the class of older consoles. You can have the last word, I'm done here.

No, direct purchases are not and have not been subject to tariffs.
That will change in May, but right now there are no tariffs on anything under $800 on Aliexpress.
