FYI I'm quitting Aliexpress. The tariff shenanigans aren't their fault, but they're still annoying. There are a lot of local shipping items available. Many of them have ridiculously high shipping costs, like $20 shipping for a $5 item shipped from the next town over. Others have super cheap items, like a computer for $30. The reviews on those items all say the same thing: Tracking shows the item was delivered but nothing came. Either there's a delivery company complicit in that scam, or aliexpress accepts sellers word that an item was shipped. Aliexpress won't refund an item that tracking shows delivered unless you can prove it wasn't... some how. Aliexpress is letting this happen. Maybe one last cash grab before the US customer base is closed?

This Olight doesn't seem to fit in with this scam, it's a reasonable price with reasonable shipping. This is more a comment on aliexpress in general. I have several Olights and I do recommend them... from other sources.

I have been buying a crazy amount of stuff from Ali over the last year. This site is super cool than any other out there IMO. Mostly, delivery is guaranteed or it's an immediate refund. I once had an issue where the seller sent literally some random stuff because they did not have what I ordered in stock. I opened a case and got my money back.
What makes this marketplace super cool is that you can talk to the seller very easily, and they do respond on time. I have been able to get special coupon codes from the seller because the AliExpress site-wide sale ended till the item came in stock, and the seller matched the sale price. And for most product issues, I would recommend reaching out to the seller rather than AliExpress CS. The sellers do make things right. Sellers have strict deadlines regarding the timeframe when they can ship items and other stuff.
Also, what I have noticed same product is sold by multiple sellers, so you can literally take screenshot of the product and search it on the app, you will find all range of prices and shipping option in neat layout.

My experience with AliExpress has been pretty good. If the items are not yet delivered, then you could just not confirm the delivery. I think they have time limit when delivering items and if the items are not delivered within that timeframe, then I think they will contact you and offer your money back.

I ordered the Olight yesterday at noon.

Edit: I suppose the stock that was available in the US when the deal went live sold out, and new orders are being fulfilled from China.

AliExpress deliveries have certainly improved over the last couple years. Can't recall when I started ordering from them, but delivery times were definitely on the order of 3-4 weeks back then. I do recall that my third order was lost, and I had to get a refund

Same. Saw a set of Bluetooth mics and put it in my cart. Was 50% off. I had seen great reviews on it, randomly a few weeks prior. And then I'm like "what am I going to do with this? Start a vlog? What's wrong with me?" At least a flashlight can be useful in emergencies in cases where you don't have your phone... Or the item you're looking for IS your phone.

Depending on what I'm wearing. If it's raining, I clip it to a pocket on my rain jacket. I'll clip it to my belt loop or pocket otherwise. Hiking I will have this clipped to the strap of my camelbak.
