You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Yeah, this.
I'm using google voice number for purchase; hoping the 2 month unlock works so I can use phone with another provider.

Had this issue, use personal number or google voice to get it into cart, place the order. When the phone comes, activate with Numberbarn number and follow the steps. There's an issue with the initial verification but after that the numberbarn number should be able to be ported in smoothly.

I tried to port a GV number to them last month and it never worked. Total W needed a zip code to process it. No zip code I used worked (tried mine, GV headquarters, random ones affiliated with area code and GV ). After many calls and countless zip codes tries, I ended up using a free TextNow number with no problem.

What method did you use to get a port number?
