We collectively encouraged it by paying $1000 for a 8GB Ram/256GB SSD MacBook Air, or $1000+ 8GB/128GB iPhone Pro. Every product purchase is a "vote" in support of the parent company. Vote consciously.

Most likely. But probably would need to keep your settings to medium/low with freesync off.
Yes, you're wrong-ish. 32gb would be nice, but 16 is still very sufficient for the vast majority of use.
Unless your running unoptimized garbage programs or heavily(poorly) modded games with texture packs.
I ordered it and another stick of 32GB RAM ($53)
CPU on that one is one gen behind and it has Thunderbolt (could charge up to 100watts). Don't care about the 1080pm LCD res as it will docked to 5.2k ultrawide monitor.

I've had both the HP Victus and this Acer and here's my opinion:
The screen on the HP victus (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about) is absolute trash. Unless you're only playing docked to a monitor it's not worth getting a laptop with such a underwhelming display. The display on this Acer is not very bright but the colors are fantastic and the motion clarity is great.
The Acer has around double the battery life.
The keyboard on the Acer is a little better.
The HP doesn't advanced Optimus or Gsync.
The build quality overall is better on the Acer.
The HP does have upgradable ram but at this price (in the case of gaming) with a mobile 4070 you really don't NEED more than 16gb.
In my opinion this acer is better than the hp victus in almost every way for gaming except for the upgradable ram.
Keep an eye out because this comes and goes.
