what a steal! I have several craftsman tools. While they probably wouldn't stand up to daily abuse on the job site, they are perfect for all those little projects around the house! If your kid, nephew, grandkid, etc are moving into their first house, this is the perfect present. All those little projects like hanging shelves, repainting cabinets, constructing furniture, etc will be made far easier with a nice starter set like this that all use the same battery system. Bought just the drill and circular saw set a couple years ago and use both all the time, but this would've been so nice to have

How long ago was this? I have a weed eater And the batteries look a little different…..

The one thing I hate about this tool system is that when I try to remove the batteries from the weed eater or the charger, I have to get a pair of channel locks to press the stupid release button and pull the battery out! NEVER had a problem like that with my Ryobi!

I kept my batteries pretty clean but I can see if dust or debris gets in the release button, it could be tough to dislodge the battery from the tool

This is sad. I just check the new v20 craftsman battery no longer work for BD and porter cable.
Natively, they never did. V20 only work(ed) on V20. SDB does not play the crossover game. Yes, BD batteries work on the Craftsman Bolt-On tool, but only because it is a rebranded BD. That was also before the buyout, so Craftsman was not owned by SBD when the Bolt-On came out.

Working on other brands with an adapter is a different story.

Great deal. I would grab this if I don't already have the similar set from Hart from 2 years ago at the same price.

I bought this the last time it was on. I have an old set from the early 2000's. It is very well built and is only 18v. it still works but for this price the update was a no brainer. I suggest going to the store and looking at the set or the tool quality for your self. I feel that it is real thin plastic and poor quality. My set came with a tool bag that is pretty much see through and thin. I am going to build more I think on my Ryobi set and use this as a backup.

I got in on this same deal during Xmas and it is bargain for all you are getting. The circ saw, while small in diameter has a brake and led which I wasn't expecting. The oscillating multi tool is nearly identical to the DeWalt equivalent. The clip fan has a variable speed select that lets you fine tune the rpm unlike Ryobis hi/lo/off options.

The only thing I can say negative about the set is thag both batteries are only 1.5ah which might not last long in the circular saw and the exclusion of a reciprocating saw. I already had one but wanted the jigsaw personally but these sets always seem to include a recip so it's odd this one chose the route it did.

good quality got them last year and paid 300 but mine came with a sawzall, built and apartment and just built a kitchen and bathroom with them, now if your someone who wants to be a contractor then you go brushless but you cant beat the price for a 20amp set dewalt would be 300/500

I have a Ryobi 18v drill and recently got the flex 24v drill and driver combo with 2 big batteries for 129$... Now I ordered this but an wondering if I should return the flex tools. As a home owner, the flex tools felt too powerful for general use. Any thoughts?

My old DeWalt v18 stem style batteries all finally died and turned out they don't sell those batteries anymore so I bought a V20 Craftsman kit very similar to this in 2019. I have built treehouses, fences, built storage in the garage, light demolition, furniture sanding, etc. ...lots of intermittent DIY use around the house and they do fine. They appear to look identical to the newer DeWalt power tools (both made by Stanley Black & Decker) just red instead of yellow--but a lot cheaper--probably with slightly lower specs. I figure if I burn a particular tool out I'd replace it with Craftsman's brushless version (same battery system) but so far everything has held up.

Do yourself a favor and buy a bigger battery. Even a 4 AH battery will add a lot more power to these tools. The 1.5 AH batteries that come with it are anemic !

This is an awesome deal. This kit comes with the cmcb2011 batteries which are the 1.5 amp batteries which are roughly 1.5 times better than the batteries that came with my drill and circular saw craftsman kit I bought (which were the cmcb201 1.3 amp batteries).

I also own the craftsman multitool. I use these all the time around my house for cutting everything from thin metal pipes to hard to reach trim pieces. After a while I wanted to stick with one brand so I wasn't juggling batteries. I went with craftsman because it was one of the more affordable brands and I only use it for home diy. I have no regrets. The only complaint I have is that one of the batteries I got from a previous kit didn't work out of the box. I waited too long to return it to Lowe's and the craftsman website makes it hard to return items. I already have several batteries so it wasnt a huge priority of mine, but if this was the first and only kit I bought I'd definitely go through Lowe's for a replacement part.

Would this be good enough for projects like replacing the boards on a deck?

I almost burned that drill up drilling at 7/8" hole through a standard 2x4 with a brand new diablo spade bit. Magic smoke was starting to come out after getting about 3/4 of the way through the board.
