It's the sound profile, bass is too subtle for certain ears. I'm a sennheiser guy but that forest green is gorgeous

Is it smart to buy wireless over ear headphones? They have significant shortcomings. For high quality sound reproduction an over ear headphone needs to be powered by a capable amplifier. Some high end DAPs can provide this. The chips and electronics in these AIO headphones are severely lacking in comparison. They're often limited by battery power considerations. There's higher levels of THD and distortion.

I have the 1st gen airpod max already and some other cans that are pretty decent quality there are wired. I don't know if these will be better. I think I heard the focal bathys wireless cans are really good for bluetooth.

Works good enough for me. Wore it on a plane flight recently and could barely hear the engine sound with ANC on. I'm able to wear them around my apartment and hear stuff clearly. If you can post a link showing I could have ordered one from Ali for less 7.99, including shipping 1 days shipping, then I'll concede defeat. Otherwise, I'm content. Serves my purposes.

Thanks for the tip, I picked up a tan set "used like New" for $348 and they look and sound beautiful, even the cable ties were still on, now I see they have a set for $318 if anyone wants to take a chance. I have run my normal tests for balance and phasing that I do w/any new headphone and all checks out fine. I was a bit disappointed that using them in wired mode still requires they be turned on, but then I suspect most will use them via bluetooth.

I got a used like new tan from Amazon, and it was gross. Found several cat hairs in the case; all leather parts worn out with headband wrinkled. Call was also intermittent during a business Teams call and made me looked like an idiot. Switched back to my trust worthy wh1000xm2 and finished the call without an issue. I suspect either someone swapped the headset out with an older set, or was extremely rough to wear it out this much within the return period. Still curious in trying them out so I wiped the entire set with sanitizing wipes, but don't plan on putting it back into the case again before returning. Truly amazed these were categorized as like new.

I went on a deep dive a year ago. Bought and tested XM4, XM5, AirPods Max, Momentum 4, B&O HX, and these. These 100% owned the competition. On pure sound quality they were tops. Amazing detail and EQ well. ANC good enough (not the best). Can use plugged into USB-C for higher res audio. Great intuitive controls. Solid battery life. And by far the most premium feeling. There are some fantastic 3rd party gel based earpads if you shave your head like me. Super comfortable. I bought slightly more than this open box on Amazon and have been happy ever since. Returned the rest. Hope this helps.
