Heads-up - regular STA-BIL (red) does nothing to protect your equipment from ethanol fuel gumming. If you want this, you need STA-BIL Marine (dark blue).
I confirmed this directly with STA-BIL's technical support department.

I've been using this in my gas for anything I store, my lawn mower and generator hasn't gummed up in 8 years. Just my personal experience. I use regular gas in both.

It says "expires" two years after opening, but I still use mine, I just double up, as I think it just loses potency..

If you need more, 32oz is a better deal:

I've been confused for a while so I finally took the time to research. Here's the information directly from Sta-Bil
  • STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer Opens a new window keeps fuel fresh for up to 24 months, making it ideal for long-term engine storage.
  • STA-BIL 360° Protection Opens a new window protects against ethanol-related damage and provides a boost in performance and mileage economy. The product is designed to be used every time you fill-up the tank.
  • STA-BIL 360° Marine Opens a new window provides defense for engines that perform in high-moisture, water-laden environments with PEA fuel system cleaning agents.
  • Both STA-BIL 360° formulas will keep fuel fresh for up to 12 months and provide protection to the entire fuel system. So, in the end, it all depends on what you would like to focus on – prolonged longevity, power and fuel economy, or condensation management.

My take on that is the Red will keep the gas fresh for 24 months but doesn't provide any additional protection against the effects of ethanol. For that, you need one of the 360 products.

Or you can add Startron in addition to this (to deal with ethanol), and Startron doesn't have an "expiration" date, which is nice.

Which is why I purchase ethanol free "rec gas" from the gas station and continue to use this stabil.

Georgia has "rec gas ", I assume all states do to?

I just checked their Stabil website and this and the Marine grade both say they protect against ethanol fuel. The red stabilizer is effective for two years and the blue stabilizer is good for 1 year.

Let's play devils advocate and say that the blue does a better job in a wet and very humid environment, like storing a boat on a lake.

I've got 10 years of using this red stabilizer to keep gasoline fresh in the humidity of Georgia, inside sealed gas jugs. Never had an issue with gumming or fuel not burning.
the chart I see at the site does not show protection for ethanol from this product.

I use a 50/50 mix of this product and Marvel Mystery Oil. I have had no issues starting after storing my snowblower for two years.

Does it help any to use to condition gas that has been stored for a while.
Depends on how long "a while" is. The volatile/burny parts evaporate first so the gas becomes less efficient. If the gas has gone bad and doesn't burn well, then no - adding this is like putting bad milk back in the fridge. There's no bringing it back.
