It's a good combo of ability (beating bosses, clearing levels) and figuring out/solving the map and figuring out how to get places.
Lastly, moments of ridiculous gore and weird bad guys to keep it fun, without losing its more serious tone. I've enjoyed it so far, that's for sure.
