These are a shockingly cheap retail price. Makes me question the quality of the sole. Anybody have experience of this versus Nike Invincible or maybe a Hoka sneaker?
Just got mine, ordered one for me and my Dad.
The arch placement for both was pretty off and the cushion is not very soft, does not seem very comfortable for long wear.
Returning both.
ALMOST bit. but since I got the NOrdstrom deal already & compared those 3 with the Promina..this is what Perplexity tells me... (so I'm going to pass on this)

Comparing the Nike Air Max Nuaxis, Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6, Nike Revolution 7, and Nike Promina reveals distinct differences in design, comfort, and value. Let me provide a comprehensive comparison of all four models to determine which stands out as the best and worst options.
Cushioning & Comfort
Nike Promina ($65)
The Promina features a tall foam stack with a grooved rocker outsole designed specifically for walking comfort. However, real-world testing reveals significant issues with this design. Despite the substantial foam midsole, users report it provides "no responsive bounce back, no give, no energy return" when walking1. The foam is described as "so dense" and "so firm" that it fails to deliver the cushioning one would expect from its chunky appearance1. The shoe also has a problematic low foot entry that makes it feel like your foot might slip out while walking1.
Nike Air Max Nuaxis ($33.98)
The Nuaxis features a fully exposed Air Max bubble in the heel that provides good cushioning in the rear foot. However, the significant drop from heel to toe means that while heel cushioning is noticeable, there's limited comfort in the forefoot3. The overall cushioning is decent but not as responsive throughout the entire foot as some other Air Max models3.
Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6 ($37.98)
This training shoe includes an Air Max unit in the heel for impact absorption, making it particularly effective for gym activities. It offers abundant cushioning with a comfortable padded interior5. The shoe provides excellent stability with its wide midsole design (111.6mm in forefoot, 91.1mm in heel), making it suitable for both training and daily wear.
Nike Revolution 7 ($34.99)
The Revolution 7 features basic EVA foam (Phylon) cushioning with a 10mm drop (31mm heel, 21mm forefoot)7. The midsole is notably firm, which helps with stability but compromises on comfort for longer distances7. It's described as having "stiff foam with limited flexibility," creating an "unnatural heel-to-toe transition"4.
Fit & Support
Nike Promina
The Promina has a widened forefoot, arch, and toe box, providing more space for feet8. However, the low foot entry creates an uncomfortable sensation where it feels like the shoe isn't properly on your foot1. It features a soft foam collar for ankle comfort8.
Nike Air Max Nuaxis
The Nuaxis offers a true-to-size fit in both length and width with a soft, well-padded tongue and interior cushioning3. The overall fit is comfortable with good support.
Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6
This model features a medium toebox width accommodating average feet with excellent lateral stability provided by a stiff heel counter5. It runs slightly small, so sizing up might be necessary.
Nike Revolution 7
Available in extra wide width with an extensive size range, the Revolution 7 offers good room in the forefoot for comfortable toe splay4. However, it has poor lockdown with insufficient side support, causing foot sliding during activity4.
Durability & Materials
Nike Promina
The Promina features a durable outsole pattern for grip and stability8. It's made with at least 20% recycled content by weight6. The upper is breathable but basic in construction.
Nike Air Max Nuaxis
The Nuaxis has a breathable mesh upper that provides good airflow and comfort for everyday use3. The construction quality is decent for its price point.
Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6
Built for training, this shoe offers enhanced durability with materials designed to withstand gym activities5. It's constructed with performance in mind.
Nike Revolution 7
The Revolution 7 features a thick rubber outsole (3.7mm compared to the average 3.3mm) that enhances durability4. However, the toebox durability is poor (rated 1/5), while the heel padding is impressively durable (rated 4/5)4. The outsole rubber is quite hard (89.5 HC vs. average 79.8 HC), prioritizing longevity4.
Best for Specific Uses
Nike Promina: Designed specifically for walking and standing all day, particularly for workers in healthcare, retail, and hospitality8. However, its actual performance falls short of its marketing claims.
Nike Air Max Nuaxis: Best for casual everyday wear with good heel cushioning for walking.
Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6: Ideal for gym/training use with versatility for cross-training and daily wear.
Nike Revolution 7: Suitable for beginners and short-distance running (up to 10km) with extra wide width options for those needing more room.
Price Comparison
Nike Promina: $65
Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6: $37.98
Nike Revolution 7: $34.99
Nike Air Max Nuaxis: $33.98
Best Overall: Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6
The Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6 emerges as the best overall option for several reasons:
It offers the most versatile performance across different activities
Provides excellent stability and cushioning for its price point
Features good durability and quality construction
Delivers the best balance of comfort, support, and value at $37.98
Worst Overall: Nike Promina
The Nike Promina ranks as the worst option in this comparison:
It's the most expensive at $65 yet delivers disappointing comfort
Users report no responsive cushioning despite its chunky appearance
The awkward low foot entry creates an uncomfortable wearing experience
The pronounced rocker design doesn't translate to actual walking comfort
Conclusion
For someone primarily concerned with walking comfort and standing:
Best Value: Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6 ($37.98) - Offers the best combination of cushioning, stability, and versatility at a reasonable price.
Runner-Up: Nike Air Max Nuaxis ($33.98) - Provides good heel cushioning and everyday comfort at the lowest price point.
Best for Wide Feet: Nike Revolution 7 ($34.99) - The extra wide width option makes it suitable for those needing more room.
Avoid: Nike Promina ($65) - Despite being marketed specifically for walking comfort, it underdelivers significantly while costing nearly twice as much as the other options.
The Nike Promina demonstrates that a higher price and marketing claims don't always translate to better performance, while the budget-friendly Nike Air Max Alpha Trainer 6 proves to be the surprise winner with its excellent balance of features and value.

Came into the comments to find someone who's worn them. I like the Motiva model a lot, and these look like a similar build, but their full retail is almost twice that of the Promina.

Therrle are some reviews on Nike which explicitly compare to Hoka (mostly saying these are just as good or better), tho the comparisons are very superficial so hard to know.

I would not at all expect these to compare to Hoka or Invincibles (which I use) *for running*. For walking, I don't see why not, other than maybe durability.

Something's gotta give at this price. What that is and how important that compromise is is up to each of us to decide, of course.

That said, I did pick one up for walking since I'm imagining a cheaper, downgraded version of Hoka/Invincibles that I'll just use for bouncing around town. Expectations set...we shall see!

Too bad the Trainer 6 is literally the ugliest shoe I have ever seen.
I am a New Balance guy and have never thought much of Nike or Reebok due to longevity.
But at $40 I was willing to give it a chance.
I just want a cushioned sole for walking that wont start peeling apart in 3 months.
