Half as much for aftermarket. Zero evidence Winix OEM filters are twice as good at filtering. Just my 2 cents.

Is there evidence that the off brand are just as good? I assume you're referring to options on Amazon, where there is no variable information that those even meet HEPA standards.

Very true. I don't think there's any scientific evidence that aftermarket's are even true HEPA, even though they say they are.
However, last year and this year, I've been using Amazon aftermarket's, and it helped with seasonal allergies. e.g. I don't sneeze or have runny nose when I'm home, but as soon as I walk out, I start sneezing and having runny nose.
It doesn't mean they're getting rid of all allergens (True HEPA), but good (and cheap) enough to use the aftermarket ones. But the reason why I went with it is because I have 12+ Winix throughout the house, and OEM became too expensive.
I'm sure it's not as good as the OEM, but I can get by. If you're buying justone set, go with OEM, but if you have to buy 6-7 sets, try the aftermarket's.

Is this in warehouse as well?

I was surprised to see they still sell the unit on line. I thought it was discontinued.

The C535 is cheaper on Amazon, $28 each with same day delivery for me https://a.co/d/gIhwp1f

For the C535, i ordered a 1 pack from home depot for $28.
The part number shows as different, 115115 vs 113151, but homedepot page lists C535. The HEPA filter part number that came was the same as what I previously had in there (from costco), 2522-0038-05

Who would do the testing to validate in slickdeals fantasy-land?

Winix already backs their claims up. The third parties don't have any reason to prove it to people like you who believe their marketing.

There is no real reason to believe that they are just as effective.

You are right . But if I had to pay this much for filters I probably would not even have an air purifier. I am sure they do something , its material that air passes through. I do change them a little more often but I dont believe the real ones are actually good for a year either
