Genuinely curious here - what is a "top-mount" refrigerator? I get that it's a top freezer model, but even the product description doesn't explain this.

For whatever reason Costco cut the product title from Midea's website. They call it a "Top mount freezer refrigerator". Which is what you'd expect.

Bought this Sunday, going to be delivered in 14 hours. We looked at the other midea for $800 it was a bottom door freezer but was just frost free but slightly smaller than this one. We went with this because it was cheaper and will be for garage use.

If you are referring to the one I think you are, that one is not garage ready. If you are placing it in a garage and your garage doors below 40d F in the winter, you definitely want garage ready.
