Looks solid - genuine leather. Good brand. Wide is usually hard to find. Congnac color looks sharp.

regarding the intermediate sole layer (white in color on cognac shoes), what is its durability?

Once the outer sole (thin layer touching the ground) wears off, will the foam (EVA) layer disappear in under one day?

Shoes looks solid, but that foam layer simply scares me... Feels like one-day disposable shoes...

Not as good a selection of sizes and widths, but yes.

Hes just wondering if they can be worn for 8 hours of work standing on your feet + 26.2 mile marathon training daily outside of work and also last for 1-2 years without much impact on appearance and comfort

ShopSimon has a bunch of this brand of shoes on sale. Some less ugly than the ones in the original post.

More on sale: https://shop.simon.com/collection...asc&page=1

I don't recommend dress shoes that are round ,coming to a point like this. The human foot is not shaped like that, and Smashing your toes together is never good. if you want comfort, you can find some that are somewhat square on the front of the shoe and wider to allow room for your toes. whoever designed the traditional dress shoe, certainly didn't think of comfort. thankful my jobs for the last decades have not required stuffy dress shoes or shirts and ties or suits.
