Drive is very well performing. But, the Samsung tax isn't so high here. Maxio and YTMC components, probably.

It uses Host Bus Memory, aka PC DRAM to act as a RAM cache. So the unless you are putting this in a PS5 or a external enclosure, it will behave just fine as you said.

I'm always a little more iffy on not so well known brands when it comes to certain hardware such as SSDs. Nothing worse than assuming all your important stuff is safe on your SSD and it randomly fail and you lose everything.

Happened to me with a brand new 2tb WD Black N770. Had it for 3 months before it completely bombed and was not fixable by any means I or people that tried to help me had. Sent it back for warranty replacement, and went thru some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced while trying to get the replacement. Not only did Sandisk(they were the ones helping me since Western Digital is a part of them or whatever) manage to completely misplace my SSD for 2 weeks. It then took me 5 different phone calls as well as countless emails and live chats to be told they couldn't find a replacement for me…so they offered to upgrade. Waited another 2 weeks(it had been close to 3 months since the start) and never heard back. Reached out again to be told they had no upgrades to offer me either!! Every person I spoke with gave me the exact same excuse and rehearsed paragraph they must be told to tell upset customers. To this day I still have not had it replaced and don't know what will even be happening anymore..so basically, I feel like I was robbed by them..so ya be careful lol
