Em680 suffers from power issues with its included 65 watt power supply that locks the cpu to 15 watts when the 680m igpu is used. The solution offered from minisforum is that you have to buy a 100 watt power supply and apply a bios update. It seems to lose 30-40% gaming performance if you do not update.
Yes but since this has soldered but faster LPDDR5X memory, better to go with the 32GB version as you won't be able to upgrade it later. This also enables to allocate more memory to the integrated graphics without hampering system performance.
the EM780 does not have this issue. it is present only on the EM680. btw, even after the bios update, the 680M does not provide the full performance its supposed to. even with a 100W power brick and the updated bios, the TDP tends to hover into the low 20s instead of the 30W that it was supposed to be raised to. the EM680 seems to just have an unsolvable hardware problem that was fixed in the 780 release.

$204 if you choose the 16GB version. So $40 difference if you want 32GB or 16GB

This would be great all the way up to ps2 and maybe some PS3. I have the same chip in my laptop and it's fantastic.

Have you guys tried 3rd party tools like Universal x86 Tuning Utility? Normally they work pretty good with Ryzen based chips and I have used in multiple times in my Ryzen laptops. ETA Prime, in his videos, has shown that it works pretty great in Ryzen Mini PCs

Ha, I bet a bunch of these refurb units are returns from people who didn't want to buy a 100w brick. Can't say I blame them, I'd be mad if I learned about that after purchase

If it came in a regular form perhaps we could slap a good graphics card on it.
Well, it wouldn't be a mini-pc then. Hundreds of non mini-pc's to chose from. Why bash a miniPC for being exactly what it's supposed to be.

I don't know anything about these pcs. But i'm thinking about buying one for the increased performance. So glad I checked the comment section before ordering.

I currently have an acemagic. It has a 5625u, 16gb memory, and vega 7 graphics. Would I notice much of an increase in performance purchasing something like
this? My son primarily plays fortnite and I like chivalry 2. Otherwise I just use it for YouTube and basic web surfing. Also, can anyone provide a link for a decent 100 Watt power brick that would work with this. Thanks
