Don't say "too long" because that totally depends on the person and what they prefer. These fit right above the knee, which is perfect for me. Very comfy and flexible.
About 20 years ago I've paid over $60 for a&f cargo shorts, I still have them to this day. Good quality cotton shorts aren't cheap.
I do have to laugh at the "moisture-wicking" part of the description. I'll try to remember to look up the materials on my pairs when I get home, but these are definitely NOT the shorts I wear on those really blistering summer days. The 98% cotton composition should be a big indicator to anyone of how they are going to do with your sweaty crotch and booty crack in the July sun. If thermal performance beyond just basic shorts is something you value, look for a higher-ratio of fabric blends (at least 10%) like nylon/polyester/etc. Linen shorts are also very strong and (typically) do better with heat (as long as the material isn't too thick/dense), but you won't find good linen anywhere close to this price point. Lees also suck when you get wet as they dry slowly, become very heavy due to all that cotton, and (at least on me) can sometimes lead to rashes on my thick ole thighs when doing a lot of walking. Stil, that water-retention is not necessarily a bad thing when standing in lines soaked at amusement parks!
If heat is not a concern for you, or maybe you want shorts that are a little warmer for windy days/summer nights/ to go with cargo/durability, these are great bang-for-the-buck.I've always had 1-3 pairs of Lee cargo shorts in my closet.
Do you own these? I do, two pairs. The pictures shows above the knee but mine aren't, and I even sized down. You ever cut pants into shorts? That's what they feel like.
But have at it.
