Japanese made guitars are on par with USA, but an $1800 guitar with Pau Ferro fingerboard?

Agree. I think in some cases the Japanese guitars are even better. But a dark rosewood or ebony would've been better, especially with that green burst.

It has great Floyd bridge. It's my preferred bridge currently. Would have liked the blue quilt be on sale instead though.

I bit on the recent Adorama Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR for $500 which is arguably a better deal with at least some better specs like ebony fingerboard. Unfortunately I had to return it due to poor quality workmanship of fret sprout, volume knob fell off when I unpacked it (corrected it with an Allen wrench on the set screw). But the wing joints as I call them showed clearly where they were glued to center of body. I requested a replacement and the next one was also unacceptable, so I'm not trusting any Charvels that I can't play in person. Maybe that's how Adorama reduced the price so much.

I have absolutely zero evidence to back this up, but between these charvel's and the constant Jackson Soloists for $379, I suspect Adorama is selling customer returns or known B-stock and not mentioning it.

I don't think so, or I hope not. They have a great reputation. I don't think they would put their company at risk for doing something untrustworthy, and potentially illegal under consumer protection laws. I've bought from them for years and I never had any issues or returns. I know some of these discounts sound too good to be true, but there is a possibility that they are making space for a new inventory or they may have overstock of items that are not selling.

I own this one in the Midnight Glow color. It's great. What can you even say? $900 for an MJ?
If you want one, now is the time.

I can confirm this, had the same experience ordering a guitar from them. Seemed like someone's return or a b-stock. It was definitely not new-in-box.

I can fully believe that 1) guitars are coming out FMIC mexico with serious defects and 2) Adorama is reselling returns as new (just like their competitors)

MIJ stuff is usually very well made. This is a lot of guitar for $1k if you want a shredder.

It's funny, I can remember when custom builders had Pau Ferro as an upcharge way before rosewood got expensive.

Does every gorgeous girl have the character you want? Thus, this guitar and especially Adorama. Adorama is a waste of time. Over time, the costs are just to high. Fish in the sea.
