My toddler, who can hear, loves this book. We started reading it to him at 8 months. He could sign a few words by 1.

While kids may start talking later, their comprehension of language is comparable, if not stronger. Kids that learn to sign just have an alternative to communicating, but it doesn't mean they aren't able to speak. They typically catch up to peers or even excel in language later.

We just looked up signs ABC didn't buy this book. My 1 year old will say the word and sign it which is very helpful for better communication. Sometimes I wish I'd taught him more words and phrases so we could communicate better from an early age
