This looks kind of interesting, but there are no reviews on NewEgg yet, and only a few on Amazon with a couple being positive and a couple being negative. Not quite at SD impulse buy level yet else I would have bitten.

Since it is USB-C, it should work with most computers, Android phones/ tablets, and iPads as long as they have USC-C I believe.

Yes in context of ops posting folks getting alerted based on IPhone probably not worried about Android or other computer connectivity. But it's nice to point out. Thanks.

Just get a magsafe SSD holder for 5 bucks to slap on your existing external SSD. I did that for my Samsung T7 2TB SSDs. It is great for corporate esp... I mean taking family videos on vacation.

iOS still needs software to keep photos synced between the iPhone and the external storage device. Otherwise, the user will have to figure out which photos have already been copied over and which ones are new since the last copy. Most apps on the App Store are subscription based and that adds to the cost. Most external storage devices targeted towards iPhone users, like Sandisk, include a free app to sync photos.
