I would say almost anything that would get you out on the water would be fine. Abu Garcia is a well known brand. The one you listed seems to be shorter, but includes 3 soft baits.

Walmart sucks at descriptions. It says 3 piece which I assume is rod, reel, and bait. That makes me think the rod is one piece. It doesn't say if it's light, medium, medium heavy or what the action is. My favorite rod so far is a light medium with fast action. It allows me to cast lighter bait further, and the fast action means the rod isn't limp as a dish rag. The way they upsell reels usually is the bearing count. 3 bearings are fine. More expensive reels will have 6 or seven. It's up to you what you find important in a rig, price, specs, or feel. Just from the limited info I would go with the cheaper longer rod, and then pick out my own bait.

There's also this one on sale https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/995924665
Is one better for fishing at local lakes for bass or trout?

Only difference I can see is the length of the rod, one in your link is 6ft6 vs this one 7ft. You get slightly better casting distance with the 7ft though.

Looks like it's a 6'6" 1-piece medium power. Easiest way to tell what you're actually gonna get from Walmart is to click the "view all specifications" link, and go off the model number (661MP):

What size reels are these? And what action rods? I ask because I brought my nephew fishing and he had a cheap Daiwa combo that had like a 3500/4000 reel. I told my wife we need to buy that kid a smaller setup (we were trout fishing stockers).

Reel size is 3000, rod power medium. Action moderate fast. Overkill for trout fishing.

Not the same one boss. MaxX vs Red Max. I think MaxX in your link is the newer version. Also on sale at walmart with plastic swimbaits, see earlier comment. But that is 6ft6 vs this one in this deal 7ft. Not much difference between the reels though.
