For heat pump water heaters, it's better if you can self install as the long warranty does not cover labor and most plumbers will only cover the first year.
For energy savings example, I was using 12-15 kwh/day with standard electric. Now I'm using 2-5 kwh/day, mostly at the cheapest rate and on heat pump mode. I run the temp at 140 at night, and 130 during the day. If you have young kids, consider installing a thermostatic valve to lower the line temp to 120. Install time was about 3 hours, with most of that time waiting for water to drain.
Other benefits are cool dry air for my garage.

Great strategy.
I am on time of day metering, so I set mine to ramp up to Max Temp right before cheapest rates ends then coast through the high periods with it in "off" mode then set it back to maintain 125 when cheapest time is back. If you have the app you can turn it to Max if you need more hot water fast too.
