Good old post-apocalyptic anime.
Also It's Miyazaki's first film.

Holy Cow! I didnt know Paul Rudd was in it. Its fun to see actors before they got famous.

This show has aged incredibly well. It's fun for kids, full of meaningful lessons, and layered enough for adults to enjoy too. At just 26 episodes, it's a tight, rewarding watch. The characters are memorable, the themes are deep yet accessible, and Miyazaki's direction is outstanding. An underrated gem that every Ghibli fan should check out.

I thought this might be a Miyazaki/Conan O'Brien collaboration, which would be amazing. Watching little Irish Catholic awkward boy Conan growing up in the late 70s early 80s combining with weird nature imps and black blobs that gobble souls…oh how I want that.
