I bought the triple variety pack last time. Really liked them. Light snack, tons of protein. They're awesome for backpacking. Wish I could just get the sea salt. Not a fan of the flavors not to mention sugar and other questionable ingredients.
Price went up to $37.97 before discounts, but still a good deal. In for one, they look to be a perfect snack for travel + skiing, thanks OP
The deal price listed is for Subscribe & Save, which currently has a 30% discount on top of the regular S&S discount; my total ended up as $21.98. i won't get my delivery until May 6th (my next S&S date), but for almost half off... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not everybody cares where their food items are made but just a FYI for some who might. These are made in China. Web page doesn't list it, nor does the outer box. It isn't until you look at the fine print under the fold of the individual bags that you find out that they're made in China.
For what it's worth, their web page definitely does list it:
"Product Information
Where are your products made?
Our company is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and all products are developed locally. We source our beans and manufacture our pasta in China because they are the main producers of organic, and non-GMO soybeans, edamame, and black soybeans (our only ingredients).
Currently, 93% of soybeans grown in the US are genetically modified and grown for animal feed because of its high protein yield. Soybeans grown in China are organic and carefully grown for human consumption. All of our products are USDA Organic Certified and our manufacturer follows strict manufacturing practices and standards. Our factory is also kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO certified."
These do taste nasty. Very dry and stale. Prepare to drink a gallon after eating a pack
I generally have to drink a ton after (and while) eating non-dryed Edamame, just from all the salt they are generally coated in. There is a reason they are a staple in Japanese drinking establishments - you will be ordering a lot more to drink while munching on them than you would otherwise.
Dried beans are always going to be very dry, by simple virtue of being dried beans - they aren't deep-fried in oil like chips, so you don't get that lubrication, and beans are naturally dense, so they don't puff up like oil- or even air-fried potato or other veggie snacks to create those little air voids we are used to. That leads to what some people interpret as a "stale" sensation when eating them.
As for the taste of these particular ones, I can't really comment, since I just ordered them for the first time. I do know that Edamame, just in general, are considered what you might call an acquired taste here in the West, and I'd imagine that being in dried form is unlikely to help with that.
I personally ordered them because I enjoy regular Edamame, regularly have cravings for crunchy snacks, and just found out the other day that I may have diabetes, which, among other things, means no more chips, or starches in general, for me for the time being, until I get confirmation one way or the other. The extra protein certainly doesn't hurt, either.
So, I'm hoping they won't taste nasty to me, at least, or I'll be back to square one in finding a safe alternative for my chip cravings.

I totally didn't even think about the flavorings probably having sugar in them - I ordered these specifically because I just found out I may have diabetes, which means no more starches and sugars for me until I get confirmation one way or the other, and get on some kind of treatment.☹️
I figured these would probably be a safe alternative for when my cravings for crunchy snacks kick in - guess I'll have to check each type individually, and, worst case, pass on all the non-sea salt ones to friends and family. At least the Wasabi and Soy Sauce ones hopefully shouldn't have any sugar in them...
EDIT: They do sell just the sea-salt ones by themselves on their website, but, naturally, without the big discount available in this deal - the cheapest option seems to be the single big 18oz bag for $18.97, with the site-wide 15% off they are currently offering. I didn't check to see what they are charging for shipping, though.
EDIT 2: Never mind, Amazon currently has the 10 pack of the small ones in sea-salt only for $10.81 with Subscribe & Save, plus 25% off for your first order - that definitely seems to be the best deal. Came out to $.763 for me, so still roughly 30% more per package than this variety pack, but definitely better than nothing.

I got fortunate that I purchased two bags at Costco when they were available. If you have one in town, it may be worth seeing if they carry them. Mine did, and now they don't. But it was 18 oz size.

Hmmm I too bought the variety pack and found them dry and unsatisfying, finally .threw them out
These are a fantastic alternative. If you have an Asian grocery store near you they're around $4 for 24 mini packs. Not actually spicy but they taste amazing!!

I just did a quick search for "the only bean edamame beans country of origin", and it popped right up.
