If your serious about fitness, Garmin is it. It' also has the best battery life
great deal for a great watch.

only overshadowed by the fact that garmin released the instinct 3 earlier this year, but i'm curious how the 3's amoled screen affects visibility and battery life, because my 2's mip screen is very crisp and more readable than my fr255 (though, admittedly, not an amoled screen) and a single charge lasts for 2-4 weeks (using GPS for 30 minutes a day).

i bought mine at costco.com 1½ years ago for this price (ie one-time sale) and as a runner it was one of the best deals (eg bang for the buck) coming from a fr245.

i favor my instinct 2 functionally over my fr255, but prefer the slimmer appearance of my fr255 (as the instinct 2 is a little bulkier). i wish i could transplant the instinct 2 display into the fr255, as they otherwise mainly function the same.

I LOVE my Instinct 2 (I got mine 2 years ago from Costco) so much that I'm considering buying this deal just to have a spare when mine dies. It's functional but not fussy and it's a great price point!

Saw that it's compatible with ios, does it give you smart notifications like text messages and emails?

Yes. That is pretty much all I wanted from a smart watch, so I've been happy with my Garmin (it is the esports model). I'm the app on your phone, you can set which notifications you want to receive on your watch. I set mine to receive texts and calls as well as notifications from Facebook Messenger and Slack plus my doorbell camera and smart lock. It also had a built-in find my phone which plays a sound on your phone. I haven't even used the other features of the watch (outside counting my steps). I've thought about going with a pixel watch (since I have a Google Pixel), but not really sure what the benefit would be, especially with the long battery life of these (mostly because it doesn't have a touchscreen and other bells and whistles that drain the battery).

I see. Any reason you didn't get the Apple Watch or Android variant? Curious to hear your thoughts on that

This is my favorite watch. Instinct 1... No need to upgrade. Screen is great for day and night. Non touchscreen or color is a huge benefit. Great battery life. Do not need to hang around a charger. I have other smart watches... But I use this one the most. Second is my Garmin pilot watch that I wear when I pilot.

These are rugged. Not need to baby. You can have more then one watch.

Does this has built-in vibration? iOS watch has that and I use it daily via Alarm app for example to wake me up on time for work.

They don't offer the fitness stuff that Garmin does. There's also brands like Coros, Polar, and Suunto that are better than Apple for this stuff.

I have this watch. It's my favorite fitness watch ever. Definitely for man sized wrists... if you have a small wrist, go for the 2s.

This version has the VO2 max where Garmin instinct 1 does not. I have e-sport instinct 1 and miss that common Garmin feature

Just picked one up but for $170 at Sam's.
Based on price research, that is still a decent deal if not slick.
FYI Sam's Club app said sold out but I took a chance and stopped to ask and they had two.
