There's a reason that Concept2 rowers, although pricey, hold their value. They are the choice of actual crew teams (rowers), built like tanks and with excellent customer service and a large community of users. You might be able to find a used Model D rower for around this price.

Another great thing about concept2 is they actually sell parts. I bought a cheap old model c recently and was able to buy parts to make it function like new.
Model D rowers that don't need any work at all are commonly sold used for 5-600. There's no 22 inch touch screen, but it will last forever and doesn't require a subscription.
