Beware: the ice maker freezes. You have to (easily) disassemble the ice maker panel and use a hairdryer to thaw the solenoid.

I would not recommend

I've owned this for 3 years and never once has the ice maker frozen.

I picked up this Frig when it was on sale at Costco for $999 a couple years ago. So far it has performed well. The fellow who has the The Project Help Desk [youtube.com]on YouTube has detailed videos that are very helpful.

Our rental apartment had the step down version of this fridge. Replaced a GE that wasn't cooling .There was a huge design flaw where the notches for the condiment drawer are not deep enough (compared to LG, Samsung, and GE on the showroom floor) that sometimes in the morning we have 2-3 times where we'd grab a condiment and the entire tray would crash down resulting in broken bottles and spilled sauce.

So bad we decided against a whirlpool for that sole reason. Fridge worked well in the 1 year we were there. No issues with ice dispenser and ours had a flaw with the water dispenser this one doesn't appear to have.

Hopefully they fixed the drawer issues

I have this fridge and the ice maker has stopped working. I've tried thawing the little fill/outlet tube (that fills the ice tray) with a hairdryer. Is that what you're referring to?

Ours stopped working two years after buying this fridge (the comparable 2018 model that looks identical).

In our case, it turned out that the wiring for the ice maker became frayed and broken where it enters the freezer door at the bottom hinge. I think it was because it was kinked during manufacturing. I ended up fixing it by cutting each wire and re-splicing using shrink wire connectors. A big pain for what I consider a manufacturing defect, but I the ice maker has been working fine for 5 years now.

I've had this exact refrigerator from Costco about 4 years now. I paid $1,899 plus tax. Never had any problems with it & the ice maker on mine works great so far. When I was researching it before purchase some did mention some wiring harness design flaw near bottom on freezer door which someone mentioned here too. Thankfully no issues for me so far. At this price I think it's a steal & Whirlpool was best brand for durability out of all the brands I researched.

I have had it a bit longer and the same thing no issues three people I know no issues either.

One issue is filters for fridge are expensive though and bottom bin bracket holder broke so we just lay it on the floor of the fridge. Some times you need to open the freezer door to purge all of the ice if it doesn't come out. Other wise they pop out on floor randomly later. I find this to be because of how the ice pedal is pressed.

Sounds like you've overloaded something with weight. Either way it's a "SAuce" persons problem. Sauce people normally make issues more than they solve em

I have this for 3 years and had to replace the ice maker tray 2 times already. You can buy it from amazon for around $70, and a quick youtube video will help.
