$2000 for a quartz chronograph is insane, spend a little bit more and get an automatic that will retain much of the purchasing price (assuming you get it 50% off like this one.)
I'll give my two cents as there's a bit of ignorance (IMO) in this thread:
Yes this is quartz, but it isn't your standard quartz. It's a superquartz, meaning it's thermo-compensated, COSC certified to +/- 10 seconds per year. Substantially more accurate than a traditional quartz. The material (Breitlight) is insanely durable and ridiculously lightweight. Does this justify the price? No, not really, but this is luxury watch territory, where most watches don't truly justify their prices.
I'm not a huge Breitling fan, as I believe their automatic movements are lacking (including their in-house movements). I'm more of an Omega guy, but I do own the Endurance Pro. It's ridiculously comfortable and the Breitlight material is the most scratch resistant case I've had on a watch.
I paid about this price for a second hand Endurance Pro. So if you're interested in this watch, it's a pretty solid price.

I am a Breitling fan and own 3. I want badly to add this series to my collection but this series has a fault, even for Breitling fans. This causes non-Breitling owners to often pass on this one. It feels cheap when you hold it or have it on your wrist. Plain and simple. If they offered a polished stainless version, even with rubber strap, I would be yet again a customer.
I want to add a SuperQuartz to my collection as I am tired of the high cost of servicing the autos. Sure, they are nice for their sweeping second hands and making others think you have something special. For keeping time though and low service costs? Nothing beats this kind of watch.
Nothing against Breitling, I have always admired their crystals/AR even compared to other high-end brands like Rolex, etc.
But this item just looks cheap, and from the posts above, feels cheap in-hand/on-wrist too. It really doesn't distinguish itself from a basic $50 Casio or Swatch etc. enough to be worth 2 grand.
Is it normal for high end manufacturers to put their brand name in HUGE font letters across the band like that? I don't recall ever seeing that before... and it seems... I dunno... tacky.

It's showy. That's the Breitling way. Similar if not identical strap is also found on some versions of the Superocean.

High cost of servicing has kept me away from 2-5k automatics. Have thoroughly enjoyed my Breitling Aerospace with a 60$ service cost. This and a 9F Grand Seiko are my next grails
So much this. 2 grand for a quartz watch is positively bananas.
Ya. I've got a TAG formula1 that is slightly over $2k but I actually have really taken a liking to it more than I thought I would. I'm a huge F1 fan and wife bought it for our anniv. At first I was thinking of possibly returning it, but I really liked the design. I have a couple higher end brands but for some reason I Gravitate towards wearing my mid level $1500-3k (Oris, Hamilton, etc) range stuff because i just feel like they aren't as pretentious. Now that I have the TAG. I actually wear it on a daily basis. It's a great daily as I never have to adjust the time or wind it, throw it on a go. Is my Tag or any quartz going to impress anyone (especially a watch fanatic)? Nope. But I'm not into that. Perhaps I'm a little more tempted at this one, as my fathers first "nice" watch was a Breitling so there is something nostalgic about it

Breitling is very high quality, probably just a notch below Rolex.
Jomashop is gray market but very reputable and trustworthy.
Seems like. A. Great deal.

lol. So people trying to impress others? This is why I'll never wear a Rolex and wife will never own a Louis bag.
