Some prices have suddenly changed. I had an Excellent condition Midnight in my cart for $763 and it raised to $809.

Better brand new, Apple doesn't honor the full year warranty on open boxes, you'll be force to buy the Apple Care to have the full warranty.

Well I suppose that's literally true, but if someone just opened it and then booted it up and used it, and then returned it a week ago, you'll have lost a week plus however long they had it (a week? Two tops?) so you lost three weeks of warranty.
It's not as if you're 'forced' to buy anything. You lose a small amount of warranty.

Last night when the $850 sale went up, I immediately bought a fair condition Midnight color for $729 for in store pickup. I picked it up today.

Somebody with messy hands handled it. Box was in rough and dirty shape. Was missing the charger brick and MagSafe 3 cord. With lots of elbow grease, I was able to clean it back to 99% new levels and the battery went through 3 total cycles.

Does Best Buy charge a restocking fee or something for customers who return without these items included? Just seems weird for someone to still have the box but fail to return it with the charger and cord.

fair condition states "May be missing parts and accessories."

But surely they do honor the 1 year warranty from the original purchase date or when the 1st buyer logs in?

Yes I am aware. I was merely stating my experience and then asked what is Best Buy's policy when it comes to returning a brand new $1000 item without all the original contents. Someone bought this in brand new condition and somewhere along the way, the charger and cord was not returned with the box and laptop.
