You're gonna pay $500 for essentially a case and mini itx motherboard? Why would you buy this if you're going to replace the CPU and PSU?

An i5 CPU costs around $100 used or around $150 new.
A motherboard is around $130
case $100
a cheap power supply around $60-$100
A total of $440-$480 if you are into DIY.
Up to you to decide if this is a good deal.

Edit: I forgot you need to add some fans on DIY, and yes, you can get a cheaper mini-case. Sorry, not an expert

I'm in for one, these are unique SFF desktops. I have a Nuc 11 extreme with a 4070 super FE and it's great. I wanted the Nuc 13 for a while but not for 1300. If you add up the cost of all the parts and it's prebuild makes it worth it.

I think you didn't factor in a cheap case. Having a 13th gen chip and a blower fan as its cooling sounds like a bad combo.

This is a spectacular deal! I'm going to get one too, then stick a 14th gen i9 in it.

I was almost into a Nuc 12, the one with an Intel Arc GPU built in, but then I gave up for some reason that I can't remember. I have the previous two generations with GPU built-in. Canyon? And the generation next to it. I will surely use it for home entertainment since they are pre-built, and I can't upgrade.

Appeals to my lazy side at $500, you can finish the build in like 5 minutes, lol.

We have 3 NUCs (not extremes) in our family and they've all had no issues. One is connected to an External GPU.

Why does a NUC need 750 watts? The whole point of the NUC is efficiency.

Does this thing support ECC memory? The i5-13600K does, but I'm not sure about the board.

because this is not a NUC (or at least not the way NUC was first introduced). this is really just a small computer with case that can fit a 3 slot GPU.
