Never understood as a kid why Alex (Michael J. Fox) was so different from his parents. I just thought he was a nerdy business dude.

Later in life do I realize it was because he was the very definition of a Reaganite yuppie, while his parents were former hippies. And that's where the comedy ensued.

It's a sitcom that starred Michael J. Fox at (arguably) the height of his popularity. I haven't watched it in decades, but it was very much a part of the lives of people who are currently between their mid-40s and their late 50s.

Funny, I just met Marc Price (Skippy Handelman) at a tape swap event a couple of weekends ago. Super nice guy, he's doing standup comedy these days...

This currently free on demand on Pluto TV. This is still a good deal, though.

it's free (with ads) on Pluto TV if you want to check it out. Likely only interesting for those who grew up with this show for nostalgia.

I'd personally watch Who's the Boss to relive my teenage crush on Alyssa Milano before watching Family Ties since I was never really into the show to begin with.

Alyssa Milano was absolutely adorable in that show. She was at her peak in that show and 'Charmed'. It's such a pity she grew up to be a complete wacko.

It was mostly a comedy, with some good sentimental family moments thrown in. It's a great show, and well worth watching.
