Just an FYI, these are rated for 7.5w wireless charging which is the same as the official Apple magsafe battery pack. I find that to be pretty slow, but likely puts less heat stress on the phone and battery bank.

Any idea if these are the same thickness as the official Apple MagSafe battery pack? That is one thing that I loved about them and was disappointed Apple discontinued them. TIA

I just received them today and they're 0.6 inch thick (1.524 cm)

I have one of these I picked up on clearance at Best Buy. They aren't that great. More of a novelty than something actually useful. One issue is that it's a lot more difficult to keep attached than you think. And I have an official MagSafe otter case. So it's not like I'm trying to work this with a case that's not MagSafe. I use the popsocket MagSafe case and it holds on very tightly. I can use it to hold my phone off the side of a building that's how confident I am with it. This battery simply doesn't hold on tight enough. So the problem is if you put it in your pocket or your purse it will never stay on without having to constantly fidget with it.

And that brings me to the next issue which is that it takes forever to charge. A really REALLY long time. Like with an hour with it attached and charging I can only charge my phone maybe 30% and again you're going to have to babysit it for it to be attached that long because it does not like to stay together. It also gets hot and remember that MagSafe charging is not nearly as efficient as using a cable so that battery capacity is only going to be maybe charge your phone at half what a typical battery would do.

Oh yeah and it keeps randomly turning itself off. So not only do you have to make sure it's attached but attached and on and charging. It's okay like at a restaurant where you can sit down with the phone on the table and attached and charging. But it's not an elegant solution at all.

Wow! Thanks for that thorough review. It's a hard pass then. I'll try my luck with another battery pack with better reviews.

I mean they are unique as a battery that charges through MagSafe. So it could be useful in some specific circumstance. For instance I hate extra cables for my battery packs. They're just difficult to keep track of and don't feel right in your pocket and get tangled. So this could be okay as an EDC for a light use battery pack. My favorite is the one Costco sells that has built in cables and even a built in plug. It's large but so much more useful and still clean in the pocket. So this could still be somewhat useful? Wish it was one for $12 vs two for $25. They must really be trying to get rid of stock.

I still have my apple one and use it for my 15 pro. Not ideal but works. The most annoying part is that it uses lightening charger but I have enough old cables.

I prefer to attach my battery packs through my MagSafe phone case because my phone case magnet is much stronger than the back of my phone.

What are you doing wasting time telling me? You should tell the photographers at otterbox that actually made the battery that somehow show every single picture of the battery being used with the exact case that I have. It's a shame they didn't consult with you first. You seem like a very intelligent person.

Thanks for your review. Of course, it should work through a magsafe case, as you said, they show it even in their own marketing photos. There are several reviews on amazon about the weak magnets on this battery pack.

0.6" is too thick imo. I'm using this Lisen one that is half that at 0.3" and has strong magnets, works through my magsafe case. https://www.amazon.com/LISEN-MagS...B0DD74T3LF

Why? Plenty of magsafe charges work fine through a case. I have a thicker one like that that is too tall and collides with the 'bumper' around my camera lenses, so it comes off easy, but I have a slim one that works perfect through my case and sticks on no problem. Extreme common sense would be not needing to remove your case to charge your phone.

Don't waste your money buying wireless chargers that are 7.5W. They're extremely slow. Try to find ones that are 15W or qi2. They're a bit more expensive but it's worth the time savings
