Charlotte FC had 70k people in the stadium for their inaugural match, it's probably the biggest thing going on in the city over the past few years. It may still be "underwhelming" to the eurosnobs but there's been a massive surge around it here.

To be fair, that was the inaugural game in 2022. They draw about 29-30K average now. Helps that ticket prices are low compared to Hornets and Panthers. But come football season, the Panther still dominate with fans...even though they suck.

I don't think I was clear, it might be big deal in CLT but I never heard of them in NY. News don't cover it, doesn't ship up in my sports feeds either and where it does it's just a small section.
