Launched six months ago for $250... This isn't a "deal".
I don't game on PC but digital foundry did a video on the b580 and were impressed. The big plus was the 12gb of RAM and performance was midrange. This is not a super high end card so don't expect 120 fps at 4k, but if you want stable performance at 1080p or 1440p and don't want to spend $1000 plus on a graphics card alone, this is a winner as long as you can deal with some occasional driver issues. Nvidia and AMD have the market in a chokehold but Intel has a mid range budget winner with this one.

Sure, so the options include a time machine to go back 6 months, paying the premium now where you can actually get the card in stock if you want it, or continuing to wait if you don't.

It's nice to have options - thanks OP!

According to TPU, it's about 10-15% faster than a 2070S. Not that you'd want to upgrade an older system with this GPU anyways. They lose a lot more performance on older platforms compared to their competitors.Intel says it's aware of and working on this issue but for now, it's only worth considering for new low-midrange builds.
There's something I didn't know... Any idea how old is too old? I have 5800x3D (in case it matters - 64GB 3200, couple of M2 SSDs that are probably on the slower side by today's speeds). I just know my 2060 isn't getting any younger and I'm not certain I can justify the $550 at best for a 5070.

Said it before and will say it again, glad Intel is in the dGPU market. Their cards are very hit and miss. The drivers don't have decades of development, which is good and bad. When they thrive, they are best GPU for the money (power consumption excluded). When they fail - GPU workloads they were never optimized to handle - they can fail really bad. But they are solid for video and OpenCL workloads. I know that's not really helpful for gamers, but I'm old. Plenty of gaming sites with benchmarks for that.

What are the true actual dimensions of this card. I've seen 272mm long, as well as 243mm long. I've seen 360mm long on Newegg which is idiotic. I've seen 45mm thick, 44mm thick, and 40mm thick. Can someone who actually owns this card measure and please verify the true actual dimensions? I'm trying to figure out if it will fit in my Velka 5 ITX case which has a limit of 270mm x 44mm.

lets keep in mind why there is a premium... most seller have the intel branded one around 400+ ..so this is 25% less. watched a yt video in portugese with dubbed audio in english where he compares to oem board... tempted to pull trigger tonight for a build using 12th gen i7 12700 for me the non gamer but 4k dual monitor setup... roast me or share your thoughts please.
In current prices, this is a fairly decent deal. The only thin you should be aware of is that this GPU will require some tweaking in certain situations with certain games. If you stick with mainstream games and aren't into high-level modding, this is a great GPU for the price. Secondly, if you're comfortable with used, a 6800xt would give you slightly more peace of mind by being more powerful and have little to no compatibility issues.
Tl;dr: In this economy, go for it. Be comfortable using forums to work out solutions/workarounds whenever you get stuck. R3ddit is useless for technical solutions.

Not trying to dissuade anyone, but 8gb VRAM in 2025 for newer releases isn't looking good.

I think a 5800X3D is about as old as I would go, as it already suffers a noticeable drop (vs a 4060, vs a 9800X3D) in some circumstances, but this is worth watching
