I don't game on PC but digital foundry did a video on the b580 and were impressed. The big plus was the 12gb of RAM and performance was midrange. This is not a super high end card so don't expect 120 fps at 4k, but if you want stable performance at 1080p or 1440p and don't want to spend $1000 plus on a graphics card alone, this is a winner as long as you can deal with some occasional driver issues. Nvidia and AMD have the market in a chokehold but Intel has a mid range budget winner with this one.

Sure, so the options include a time machine to go back 6 months, paying the premium now where you can actually get the card in stock if you want it, or continuing to wait if you don't.

It's nice to have options - thanks OP!

I think AMD has something coming in this price segment. Is this was MSRP, it'd be less risk but at $50 premium

>$50 MSRP mean 20% is no good.

According to TPU, it's about 10-15% faster than a 2070S. Not that you'd want to upgrade an older system with this GPU anyways. They lose a lot more performance on older platforms compared to their competitors.

Intel says it's aware of and working on this issue but for now, it's only worth considering for new low-midrange builds.

Make sure you have a newish CPU and ReBAR enabled otherwise you'll have overhead issues. https://youtu.be/00GmwHIJuJY?si=sk7Skm_Bu-ypD3Lm

lets keep in mind why there is a premium... most seller have the intel branded one around 400+ ..so this is 25% less. watched a yt video in portugese with dubbed audio in english where he compares to oem board... tempted to pull trigger tonight for a build using 12th gen i7 12700 for me the non gamer but 4k dual monitor setup... roast me or share your thoughts please.

Is it way better than 12gb 3060 ? For production work.

It's basically the answer to that GPU. 3060 would be clearly better if your CPU lacks ReBAR.

Beyond that, specific workload matters. As a Linux user, Intel is decisively better as the entire official GPU driver is open source.

But for Windows, CUDA, etc, 3060 may outperform. No specific answer.

This seems overpowered if the only thing you need it for is dual 4k Support. Most every integrated GPU will do that just fine. If you have some productivity uses that is a different story, these are supposed to be excellent at video encoding. Also 12700 is by now three generations old and horribly inefficient. I guess for a desktop this matters less ebut if you care about noise/heat it really isn't a good choice these days.

Depends what sort of production work you have in mind. But overall it should be comparable in most situations.

IDK who downvoted you - the RX7060 is getting announced later this month.
