Everyone note that these are extensions - you need a base unit for this to work
Solid price if you're in the Hue ecosystem already.

FYI it's also on sale at Amazon currently for $4 more. Woot is owned by Amazon but the return policy isn't as good so could be worth just getting it at amazon if you're unsure if you will keep it.
Good to note additionally, that a single AD/DC adapter supports three lights at a time.

Edit: Should also note that, there are 3rd party alternatives for the AC Adapter that can handle 4 Play Bars and are about half the price (less than $20) than the official one.

Agree, but oddly Woot randomly refunded two orders just for sending a request for a refund on them. Didn't even require me to send back. I was extremely surprised and I doubt it will ever happen again.

Fair warning, I returned these because they emitted a bum or buzz of sorts. It's been a while but I remember behind my monitor it was enough to bother me.

I have 4 of these, no issues with noise and they have worked well.

I use a couple of them as key lights for zoom meetings mostly and they work great for that use for me anyway. Tuck behind monitor when not needed, when they are easy to arrange and you can create hue scenes to suit your needs and adjust easily on the fly if required.

Other two work behind my TV laying down for general ambient light up the wall behind the tv, easier than the LED strips and look just as good for a non wall mounted tv anyway.

I have like 20 of these, not a single problem. Some are probably close to 10 years old now (old hue sync setup prior to gradient) and still like new. I've also beat them up, they literally get tossed around being used for my product photo lighting.

You have to have the main piece first, correct? Thank you in advance.

Yes, besides the AC Adapter for power, you need a Hue Hub base to actually control these lights.

Another note about that though is these lights use the Zigbee protocol and can be controlled by Zigbee hubs so you don't have to use Philips Hue Hub, but thats getting more into DIY and Smart Home automation. And the price of Zigbee hubs isn't that much cheaper than the Philips Hue sold by itself.

Sweet! Been looking to buy just 1 because I bought a kit that came with 2 and the base unit supports 3.

Will this be able to connect to any third party adapter?

Bought some last sale and one of them has a slight buzz. Can I ask if you are using a third party power source or the one from Hue?

Thank you for your response. I have the Hue hub and several other Hue products but I have yet to for out for the main, if you will, play bar. So I just need the hub, which I have, or the main play bar?
