Only 600 joules surge protection, barely anything
There is nothing "heavy duty" about this item

Only good for lights and small electronics, not good for tv, computer, etc

Lol it's what I use under our computer desk. It's so that none of the plugs hit each other.

I don't like it when my food touches; I don't like it when my plugs touches

For TVs and computers, you should plug this strip into a battery backup which would make up for the low joule rating.

Seems like the only way to get some protection out of this limiting 600J model 🤣

ups battery backup doesnt mean you have a a better surge protection. some of them do not even have any surge protection built in

Well i was also thinking about using this in the garage to clean up the daisy chain of surge protectors, but these comments seem to have put a stop to that....

There's definitely use cases for this type of outlet.

This is super useful for standing desks, or long desks that you want to install a plug under.

We also use this at work too, under the desks in our lab. Just easier to have plugs ready for PnP to charge robots, laptops, and etc. I got one hanging upside down on the bench shelf in one of my repair rooms too. Makes it easy to plug in wired drills, wired equipment, etc.

Albeit.... IDK about plugging $1000s in equipment into a 600 joule power strip.
