You'll have to buy the $350 (or $270 open box) hue hdmi sync box to pair with this on a TV.

OR you can buy the digital app if you have a Samsung or LG tv. It's $130 or $3.99/month - just make sure your TV model is compatible (I don't know much about the app otherwise).

Through a PC it's no charge btw, I just hook my laptop to the TV.
It's quite cool, though it does make black bars more annoying.

One especially cool feature is the option for it to use audio to enhance the color syncing, ex. big sound beats or explosions have that much more punch, intensity is ajustable.

The music sync is great too, especially if ya have multiple color lights, though its capped at 10 at a time due to the iot channels getting overwhelmed by the barrage of commands I guess? Have heard rumblings about using two Bridges?

Or you can buy 4K version for about $120 on ebay.

If your TV is wall mounted and you wish to have light at the bottom, you will need to pick up either 3 light bars or the gradient light tube for full coverage and more dynamic lighting options that mirror the strips functionality.

Have had this setup for a few years now, it is nice, but nothing earth shattering. Have it paired with two more floor lamps next to the TV for further dynamic lighting when watching TV with the 4K Sync Box.

Can you daisy chain 2 of these together for the same effect and 100% TV border coverage?

As far as I know, I don't think so. There is no ability to physically connect them together, and I am unsure if the Hue Sync Box would work with 2 strips. There is no direct ability to say 'this 2 feet of strip, react to this on the TV screen' in the app.

So when you would install the second strip, the portion you had at the bottom of the screen would not be reacting to what is at the bottom edge of the screen, it would instead react where it would normally be along the left, top, or right side of TV.
