1000 Hilton Honors points don't even get you a smile at Hilton group.

This is such a bad promotion.
Nice ad, just put it in perspective - normal price per night is 40k points, can find it cheaper sometimes, 10k points is virtually non-existent, so this 1k is just simply nothing.
Thanks for posting but this is a pretty disappointing promotion compared to ones in the past.

Weak AF promotion, but every point counts.

The link in 'Deal Instructions #2' goes to the wrong offer, it goes to the 2x points promotion that ended April 30.
The correct link is at the top of the 1st post in this thread.

Not a deal. Why posting it. SD should only post deals that are actual a deal in it's value rather than just sales.

I will switch hotels every night during my business travel to get 1000 pts for each stay, lol
Yeah, used to do that too when I went to a client site or a conference for 3-4 days. Would check out and move across the street to get the check-in bonus when it was 5,000 points. Would come home from a 3-4 night stay sometimes with over 40,000 points, depending on property with all the status and credit card bonuses.

It ain't like it used to be, and this "deal" is proof. Covid killed all the fun stuff from travel. So I don't play the check-in game anymore.

I amassed so many points from 2014-2021 that I haven't purchased a vacation hotel for my family of 5 since 2015...that's at least 4 week-long stays somewhere a year for 10+ years!

Yes, it does suck that rewards have devalued, but it's industry-wide and would be the same no matter which brand. I'll continue to be loyal to Hilton and the AmEx-Enterprise-AA ecosystem because they've been good to me, and my wife and kids have benefited from it through memories and access to experiences that we might not have otherwise gotten.

Does it count if I use my reward points for the stay?

Worthless, but at least I didn't have to verify my account 6 times and jump through a flaming hoop to get it.

This DOES suck The double your points was nice when coupled with 2x rate and my 12X amex hilton. 125.00 a night often ended up being 7-10K depending on whatever else. Not with this. As said, better than a kick in the teeth I guess?

At least hilton doesn't ask you to pay $5 for a cup of coffee from the urn in the lobby now. Looking at you, Marriott. Looking at you..

Only if you want to pay for things like coffee in the lobby and want one microwave for the hotel.

Not kidding. You can't even get a free cup of coffee in the lobby any more unless youre lucky to be diamond or whatever and have found a rare M club and access. We avoid Marriott like the plague now.

With AMex / gold I get 50.00 back per quarter, and 15.00 per person in meal cred per stay or other things. Try getting that with Marriott.

Never liked Marriott - there is almost zero benefit until you reach the highest tier. Point earning overall feels lower (not talking number of points but more like $ return on per $ spent).

But Hilton is also starting to devalue gold a bit - e.g. executive lounge is not available to gold's everywhere but I find it easier to get Hilton Diamond status and that is where Hilton really shines abroad - nice room upgrades and free breakfast - almost a $100/$150 value per-night.

I honestly never understood the 1000 points per stay, since I usually have the do not disturb sign on my door, but when they do these promotions I check out and check in. I feel bad for house keeping.

That does NOT work and has NOT worked for some time.
Must move to another property or use another account.

What is an eligible stay?

A stay is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. For additional details, visit the Hilton Honors Terms & Conditions.
