All of their controllers are awesome. But I'm trying to see a world where I would ever use a controller with a cord attached to it unless I had to.
To be recognized by both Windows and an XBOX as an XBOX controller, it is 'locked' into that ecosystem.

8BitDo's "3-mode wireless" controllers and non-XBOX-licensed controllers are much more universally-compatible, but (again, because of MSFT's reqs.) none of 8BitDo's 'normal'* Xbox controllers are wireless (to the XBOX).
*8BitDo's XBOX-licensed 'arcade pad' and their accessibility-focused controller, are wireless to the Xbox using a USB plug-in dongle.
I use corded controllers to game on my pc... I'm not 10ft away from my system and don't care about a single cord...

PS: Stock up for when the Xbox controllers are $80 later this year. 😉

I wish they'd stop console-locking their controllers. I'd buy one of these if I could use it on any system.

[If anything, I'm far-more irritated that MSFT wouldn't allow 8BitDo to make a 'normal' wireless xbox controller w/ a dongle, but would for 'specialty' controllers]

Historic low.

Hall Effect: Some say it's overrated but a nice upgrade. Others will say they hate it & it feels inaccurate. Something to keep in mind.

The only real reason to get hall effect sticks is if you hate stick drift with a passion, they are basically immune. But they are also slightly less accurate.

If you grew up on Sega, you have Hall Effect coded into your DNA. These actually feel more accurate to me. And never drift.

This is true, but not an issue with all Hall Effect sticks.

At least with 8bitdo, some older controllers like the Ultimate have very low stick resolution (33) while the 2c has great resolution (1111). Both are Hall Effect sticks.

In for 1 for a backup. My g7 is excellent but at this price a backup with hall effect sounds like a steal

Competive games that require twitch reactions to reduce latency. Example First Person Shooters.
If you're a casual this wouldn't matter.

Just curious -- is there anything wrong with wired controllers other than the cord getting in the way?

I'm looking for a wired controller so I don't have to worry about another battery, but would reconsider if there are major issues.
