This is a bare bones laptop. If you need something to pay the bills and do your basic web browsing then it works just fine.

put linux in it and it runs. real problem is the memory. i guess it is soldered, which makes this laptop... yep, landfill, definitely.

EDIT:
confirmed landfill...

Q: Can RAM be increased?
Asked 1 month ago by JR.

A: Thank you for your question about this HP laptop! The memory for this laptop is neither accessible nor upgradable. HP offers laptops that are pre-built with 8GB of memory in Best Buy stores.

Good to know. Two Best Buy reviewers successfully replaced the 4GB RAM with 16GB (search "16GB"). Despite 16GB being the official maximum memory supported by Alder Lake-N (N97 N100 N150 N200 N300 etc), many people upgraded [reddit.com] theirs (mainly mini PCs), with 32GB SODIMM and some vendors ship with 32GB standard. 32GB makes sense for mini home server use, not so much for low-end laptop (one should be getting a Core/Ryzen instead).

I know someone with a computer with similar specs. Run. It can barely run chrome with 1 tab open. Run away. Run for the hills. It's complete garbage. 4gb of memory on windows 11 is a nightmare.

eBay has nicer refurbished HP elitebooks with 5x better specs for same price.

That would make this laptop actually usable, the display still isn't great but the CPU is ok for most basic tasks. But uncommon to find two RAM slots on a N150 considering it only supports single channel memory.
