Apparently that was some sort of regional deal because it was not available to me.

Those aren't the same Loppers.
OP's deal is for POWER loppers and are much better for cutting thicker limbs than these.
Some hunters such as myself use these for dressing deer/hogs as they are much better at cutting through bones

Sigh - I got one. Though looking at the reviews, some of the newer ones must be made of chinesium. because so many broken blades and dented blades, etc.
Need a Knipex version innit

There's no comparison. The one you linked do not have any leverage, so great if you like to get exercise but otherwise get the one here. It's a steal at $17. I have one that's over 10 years old and still works great, the leverage action making most cutting easy.

We have similar loppers from Fiskars. They work great but wanted to comment on their warranty. We had them 5+ years and the blade did break. I was trying to cut things bigger than I should have, but anyway, I just contacted them, sent a picture and they sent replacement part for free. No hassle whatsoever.

We've got one like in the link but with the extendable handles (which don't always stay put), so you're saying this one will have more power with the same amount of muscle use? Grandma needs to be able to cut bigger branches than the other one, But I don't know if she could if it requires more muscle power given how much there is to prune. about the same weight? She has a lot to cut back

That deal pops up every so often. I got it a few weeks back but wish it would have been the one this current post. Much better.

The latest version of the power gear version is called the powergear 2. I don't know how much better it is, but it's the newest version of this style. Sounds gimmicky but maybe it's beneficial. I personally haven't used both. I own a small pair of powergear2 anvil loppers. They work great.
