Best Buy is rebranding Magnolia
I have heard mixed stories about what that means and what they are going to carry in the stores versus online

They have removed the Magnolia signage from all the stores I have been in recently

Additionally..they seem to be blowing out their KEF R metas in SOME stores
I bought a pair of R5 metas, R3 metas and an R2 center for about 70% off MSRP
They were all store demos from the Magnolia showroom

The prices at the store are ringing up LOWER than the prices online
For instance, online the Kef R5 meta were priced at $1210 and they rang up at $605 ea in the store when I purchased
They have since lowered the online price...so I am not sure if that means there are even lower than what I paid
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kef-...Id=6534454

They also seem to be blowing out some Bowers 600 and 700 series as well all their inwall, in ceiling speakers

This is a HUGE YMMV and some stores are not blowing them out...the display R7 and R11 metas seem to be already gone from these same stores
Check in your area for open box units online and DRIVE to the store

I have seen condition be from excellent to average. Check for missing plinths, condition of the speaker grille and terminals. These likely haven't been used/played much, but they have been handled/moved. So missing parts and physical damage is something you need to be aware of

I have attached the receipt for the R5 metas I bought on 4/2

Just checked a price on some black R3s
$1250… so they did go up with the increase
Also saw a store with the best selection I have seen in 2 states
If anyone is near or can get to Chicago land
Multiple Denon x4800s $1000
multiple Marantz cinema 40s $1600
Marantz Cinema 30 I didn't check
SVS SB3000 I didn't check
KEF R11s , R5s R3s
R11s and R5 is very good shape with a little wavering on a couple of the grills
I didn't not check the prices on these two models
The black R3s do have a small scratch of about 1 " long on the top back of one of them

The Denon X4800 are a spectacular deal for $1000, I just picked them up. They are Made in Japan, and pretty much the same as the Marantz Cinema 40's. They will last you a lifetime. I have a Made in Japan Denon from 2003 that still works perfect to this day.

It was tempting but I went with Marantz 40. When I saw the breakdown of how 40 is made as opposed to 50 and etc. At $1600 it was a no brainer

Very nice slick dealing, that is the way to get a good deal.

Did you pick up one of those receivers that were also on sale?

Opinion question
Kef R2 black for $675 or
Kef R6 black for $950 ?
Store close to me still has the R6 and I am in the return period for the R2

I have the R5s and will likely never upgrade these for larger speakers like the R7 or R11
frankly..these R5's were sort of a whim buy due to the highly discounted pricing and they are in a secondary room
Based on what I hear now..the R2 seems to be a great center for the R5's

One sales guy told me they were ending this deal at month end...wonder if they will have a final blow out the last few days even lower $$, if what he was telling me is accurate

I snagged that deal as well

Kind of wishing I would snagged that SVS SB3000 sub I saw as well though

You want to match the driver size of your front speakers so since your R5 are 5.25"drivers, matching the R2s. If you upgraded the center to R6 then you would want to upgrade the sides to R3 or R7.

I actually have a pair of R3s..using them as the rear speakers for that set up right now...with the R5 serving as front L&R and the R2 center

Sounds like that might be the best plan as I am not going to upgrade to R11s. This room is a medium sized secondary listening area

So is the stock accurate online and same price in store for open box inventory? Or is there possibility of going in store and getting cheaper if you ask about other options?

Finally found evidence of this deal being advertised, it's on those Magnolia control panels, extra 40% off open box prices for the speakers in the studio lol. Looks like deal is in-store only, which is what we believed. Ends on July 6th. I have a feeling Best Buy will just recycle the remaining items in the show room as they will probably need to start closing down the section to renovate them for the new Samsung experience centers.

I went back and grabbed a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3 for $1,300 a pair regular price $4,000. Went home and put some polish on the gloss black finish and it is good as new.

Online stock is accurate. Take the open box price that you see online and apply another 40%. Everything that they are selling is definitely at a loss. But I guess these are display models since 2022, 2023, 2024, so they don't care.

I went to a best buy near me and they hadn't heard of it. Also it was called Home Audio and Not magnolia. Is that how it's supposed to be?

It has to be a Best Buy with "Premium Home Theater" NOT "Premium Design Center" These 2 are not the same thing. You need to filter for "Premium Home Theater", these are the Magnolias that are going away. Search and filter for stores here. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/store-locator

The trick is to find a store with Magnolia Home theater that is closing though..before you head there

I just searched for online inventory and looked for store that had a lot of open item inventory that looked like Magnolia Home theater type products
