do this product still have the problem where it turn off automatically after 30 minutes and you has to plug the usb cable back in to get them things charging again?

I have this one, and I have not encountered this issue. My phone and tablet charge all the way to the max setting of 85/80 %. For my tablet, that would be over an hour from empty.
