As someone in the market for a soundbar...at this price point isn't it better to invest in a AVR + standalone speakers?

I'm really not sure how this could provide much better performance than having a decent receiver, center channel, sub, and satellite speakers for less. I get it might save some space, but man...$1000 ($2000 MSRP) seems crazy.
