i have bought 8 of these 2 at a time. I paid as much as $120 and as little as $95. And they have worked great (that's why i kept buying). They are shipped quickly and packaged well (never arrive broken for me). Be certain to confirm that they are the "bi-facial" version. Eco-Worthy sells multiple variants. $85 is a good price.
Technically it's possible, but practically no.
Yes, but you would need an ac compressor that is operated with an electric motor like what is found in electric cars and hybrids like the Prius to operate with the engine off. You'd have to do some thermal math to figure out how big of an electric ac compressor you'd need to install, get a new serpentine belt for your car to not include the new ac compressor, and some wiring modification to have the cooling fans come on with the compressor and keep the cabin fans moving air without the vehicle turned to ON so as not to have the engine computer or fuel pump/systems drawing power. And this would be before you try to incorporate a solar panel power source.

So once you get all that sorted and can figure out your power draw needs, you'd probably need panels with 150% to 200% output of that so you have some buffer when you're not under perfect sunlight conditions. At this point you have several square feet of solar panels on top of your car that would probably look like a portable car port.

In the 90s, I believe Audi had a car with a solar panel built into the roof to power the fan. The AC compressor would be too much.
Some old 3rd gen Prius had them. The roof is a solar panel. It cools the car under the sun.

Does the technology exist to attach these to the roof of my car, such that I can run my air conditioner without draining the battery with the engine turned off?

An air conditioning compressor runs with a serpentine belt on most cars... not the battery... unless you have an EV.
It is annoying when people sit in their cars with them idling for extended periods.

I forgot what brand it is, might be ecoflow, that has solar panels built specifically for certain Tesla models. They don't provide a ton of wattage but about as much as you can get from the surface area of the roof of the car so you can farm some solar energy while the cats sitting in the sun. Not sure if this is enough to run the ac without draining the battery but it's pretty much the best thing other than lugging around big solar panels and setting them up each time.

Many brands also sell flexible solar panels that make good options to attach to the roof of RVs, vehicles, etc. The flexible panel is great for rounded surfaces like the roof of a car and those round streamliner.

maybe he has an electric car and the AC is already an inverter DC unit

I saw a comment on YT that said the IV curve in the data sheet shows these are actually 155W panels at STC: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...1727331801
It seems that may be the case

is there a way to mount a single solar panel temporarily on the house roof e.g. with some clamps holding or any other ideas.

The Ecoflow panels seem to run much lower than what they're rated for. I have 2 of the 195w mono panels and they only give me 140-144 watts with midday sun.
both together = 140-144? or each ?
