24v

I doubt that many people have 24v systems but I actually do.

The power savings for DC is not really much, more a sales tactic.

Except in a situation that you don't have AC power and can run directly on DC instead.

Not using an inverter will greatly increase your reserve power.

They are also not really any more quiet than a regular AC driven fan.

The noise is from the blades and the wind more than the motor, so also just another sales tactic.

Might pick one up just to play with.

Maybe over voltage the unit and see how far it goes until magic smoke comes out lol.

We have two floor standing fans one pelonis DC the other lasko AC The lasko has 3 speeds, used killawatt in low 64watts med 74 watts and high 82 watts the Pelonis DC on low a 10watts and high of 40 watts (too many speeds to list) If I compare the two in subjective similar "wind" so as close as I can compare the two in the amount of air moved, which is low on the lasko and one of the med speeds on the Pelonis..... it's lasko 64 watts vs pelonis dc 30 watts. So the difference is there, and to me isn't insignificant.

That's exactly what I just said
Your still dealing with the AC to DC efficiency loss.

I'm sure you have a DC power supply for it right? so your running it on AC.

The real savings is running directly on DC.

But it is not advertised that way, a normal person won't see even a dollar difference on the bill.

As for comparing fans, there is so much more to it than just "how it feels" you need to get an animeter and lean how to do CFM calculations to compare dissimilar fans.

Else at least compare the same fan that has a AC and DC model like some Vornato fans offer and I have tested and they were much closer than you think (single digit wattage)

sure, there is a conversion loss.. but it's not much most switching are running better than 95%.... however the loss in ac induction is huge..... could be as low as 75% yes.... it would be nice if I had testing equipment but I did chose my words carefully.... I did say I did my best to be as comparable as possible. But for my uses the ac motors taking 64 watts on low vs 30 is a huge difference.... and the ac motor runs far more efficient in med vs low as there is only 5 watt increase yet a significant difference in power.... so running it on low speed was a mistake the savings is tiny compared to the performance loss.
