I easily could sell it for $100/unit and move a couple a year for the rest of my life, instead of 5-10 per year.
But I'm too nice. This seller is not.
This actually has some good professional use. Thunderbolt was the Mac way to do PCI eSATA on most systems (aside from Mac Pro). Still is, we just moved on to USB4, NVMe and SSD.
It just isn't worth anything like this today.
A few years back a lot of movie studio pros would take film work home using this mated to an iMac Pro or MacBook Pro.
Today its main value would be to shuck with a larger HDD (or SATA SSD) and use for archival on a Thunderbolt Mac or PC.

This isn't worth it at all. Just get a thunderbolt enclosure for a hdd.
I made clear it wasn't worth it at that price.
But the enclosure is very shuckabke, and many buy these to this day off eBay for that exact use.
It won't be until USB4 really takes off that wr get good PCI accelerated Boxes ubiquitous. COVID and the tariffs both did that in quite well, should have been out there for dirt cheap by now.
You won't see any usb4/tb4 enclosures. Have to wait for tb5.

One, TB5 *is* USB4v2, so it will still be USB4.
Two, yes there probably will. Intel will keep churning out the USB4/TB4 device controllers, as will others that make them. Once that stuff is at a chip fab, it costs pennies to spit out chips.
This is why USB 3.0 gear still is made in the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 era.
Read up on tb4 vs tb3.

If you did you'd know it's a distinction without a difference for this vertical, and a waste of people's time to discuss. Which is what I was trying to avoid.
