Also, you're wrong about the torque. This is the LM2142SP... it has 8.3 ft/lbs. torque, same as the best of the 800 series. Only the 1000 series has more torque. https://egopowerplus.co
I also found parts to get a hold of, but the real issue is that you can't call them. They are always busy both online chat and the phone number. When I finally do get through they are super helpful, give the part numbers, and did a warranty replacement on the battery. They ran me through the ringer on testing, serial numbers, part numbers, model numbers, and purchase date with receipt. But they came through and continue to. I wouldn't go back and try another brand just for this reason.
I would totally try EGO, but for the price I got at least 3 "kits" of Greenworks tools each with a battery. The mower was $200 and each other tools were $100-150 on sale. If I wanted just a great mower I'd give EGO a shot but for well under $1000 I have just about every 40V tool from Greenworks, 3 years strong now, and about 6 batteries. (one brand-name died in warranty and one off-brand died)
Honestly, buy into whatever brand you already have. If you're starting brand new, I do think you'll get a little more longevity out of Ego's tools (some of mine are approaching 10 years old, and so far only one of my original 2.5Ah battery packs has worn out). But Costco is gonna take good care of you if you have issues with that Green works.
If you don't own any yet, look at the selection of other tools you might get down the road, and buy into that brand. There are a couple of special products Ego has that leave similarly priced competitors in the dust - their string trimmers, their cordless blowers, and their 10,000 lumens area work light. Green works has a lot, too, but I think Ego is ahead.
I think I'm picking up the 2156. It seems the battery alone makes the 800 series worthwhile, as it retails for $100 more than the 7.5.
Also, thanks for pointing out the warranty. That's definitely a worthwhile consideration.

I purchased the ace mower due to battery and size of yard, it's a $50 difference for a $100 battery cost difference. Personally I don't want to be running and swapping batteries mid job.

Anyway just joined ACE since it's the only nearby dealer and will might have to get this 10Ah but that seems almost overkill and likely very heavy. Too heavy for handhelds. As of now I have a Honda gas backup for my Select Cut 7.5 that I'm happy with. Ego made me lazy, I don't even want to bother with gas and oil maintenance
I can't keep up with all the different models.. some new ones out that are monsters with dual batteries. Like I said, 10Ah is awesome but HEAVY for other tools. There is a dual battery 6Ah out that might be more practical. I may just stick with my Honda gas backup since I'm way past retirement.
